Hey folks. Any advice as to what tanker companies if any hire new drivers out of Louisville? Drive safe and have a great weekend.

That might be a tough one, roll over potential. Most want driver with big truck experience, not right out of school. Who know keep beating the bushes.

Yes I agree with Stubby. Rollover potential is greater in tanker.
HOWEVER... there is one person here who would know.

Honestly, you are better off driving a Van or flatbed type trailer as a new CDL driver. Especially since you are in the midwest due to snow. Tanker is too dangerous for new drivers in the snow. I have tank experience and can tell you that you better brake properly and maintain proper speed for condition or your life is on the line.
Notice my description ? You need experience to properly judge condition.meechyaboy, Stubby T Slapnutt and Ellimar1021 Thank this. -
Is there a reason why you want to pull a tanker ? Tanker is good for local runs, but I do not know of any local tanker companies hiring new drivers. Especially now that the economy is slowing down and there are plenty of experienced drivers looking for local work.

Superior Carriers might be an option, they have a few drivers out of the Derby City tank wash. Dispatch is from Cincy.
Ellimar1021 Thanks this. -
I’d say a good way to get your foot in the door would be with a company that has pneumatic and liquid tanks. They’ll be more likely to train you on a pneumatic and you can move to liquid tanks later on if you want.
