    Best Dot story?

Probably about 10 years ago.....eastbound Joplin scale on 44, put it on the scale, got directed to the back.
    Went inside,expecting attitude or something.....
Guy around my age says "I pulled you around to do a level 1 inspection, I said, let's do it,
Put the truck up on the concrete elevated platform, and he went at it.
We go back in and #### chatted a good half hour...Nice guy
He was a driver but wanted better benefits.....plus home nightly.

If I told you folks what they start out making, you'd feel bad for dot officers
    About 35k plus good benefits.

Ol Roger at the eastbound Sturgis scales was about as cool as they come.

The absolute best DOT experiences are when you don't have to deal with them.

Peerless port of entry on highway 6 south of Salt Lake. She will give you a hand full of candy for a positive inspection. She is just nice!

I got pulled over doing 70 on a 55 construction zone.

Cop was like “Do you know how fast you were going?”

Me: “This truck only goes 62 sir”

Cop: “You know..............” *He looks at his phone for 10 seconds and pauses* “I’m in a good mood . Drive home safely, alright”.

    NO JOKE!!!!

Most of my experiences with the scales have been positive, just as most of my encounters with LEO's in general have been postive.

I had one occasion when I was with IWX headed for Flying J in Ripon, CA. Chowchilla Coop decided my number had come up and it was my turn for a Level 1, pulled into the bay the inspector (not a cop) ask me where I was coming from, I told him off a fresh 10 hour in yard in Kingman, next was where are you headed, (You don't have to answer this, but your night will go easier if you do) I told him the Hook in Ripon, He looked at my book told me he thought I had just about enough time, So I thought I was in trouble with the clock for sure, He walked around the truck and trailer dod a quick check of my lights looked at the chambers when he checked the taillights, walked over to the desk called me over for signatures, while I was putting my paperwork away he stickered the tractor and trailer and sent me down the road I think in like 10 minutes. Last instruction was there writing for over 5+ between here and Ripon, driver safe.
Pulled into Flying J with 10 minutes to spare.

I have had good experiences with West Bound Banning as well. Your attitude in most cases gets reflected back to you.

Following the lord can be costly on earth, but mathew 5:10 thru 12 assure us the reward comes later. Thanks for sharing your story.

My positives have been every greenlight. The others not so good!

Years ago, when I had dumptrucks, I broke a crank on I-35 by georgetown texas. We had a dot that was a 14 karat prick, and he whipped over in front of me and backed up and unloaded his portable scales, then pulled up out of the way and told me to pull up on them. lol
It was hot and muggy Texas summer. I ask him if he thought I was just sitting there sweating because it was something I enjoyed doing. He got hot and ask me why I hadn't told him before he went to all the trouble. I just told him he didn't ask. I was stalking to my fellow truckers on the radio at the time, telling them to hurry and get by while he was tied up. He could hear me over his radio and kept looking up and scowling at me. When he finished loading, I was talking to gambler and he was coming down the other side of the interstate, so the dot gassed it and tried to cross the median, where he his something and blew a tire. I loved it and kept telling everybody that he was stuck, just carry on while he changed his tire. lol
