I missed a scale in new mexico on the Texas border today on I-10. Do they keep track of this---don't usually chase you down when they're open? Or what?

Didn't they chase you down? If not I wouldn't worry about it. If they didn't come after you when you passed it then they didn't notice you going by. If they did then they woulda come out and you would get a ticket.

    Rule #1
DOT officers are paid to do their job, which includes attention to detail. And chasing trucks that blow scales.

    Rule #2

Truck drivers make mistakes. Don't compound the first mistake, by pulling over on the shoulder of an interstate in front of said scale, and ASKING for a ticket. The officer has his job, let him do it. Sitting on the shoulder with a set of blue lights on your ### insures the majority of traffic will MOVE over, instead of hitting you in said ###.

    Rule #3

No harm no foul.... If you didn't stop, and you didn't get pulled over after missing the scale. All is right with the world. :yes2557:

Dont worry if they wanted you they would have tagged you right then. Dont make a habbit of it, it will get real expensive. It may get them looking at a newbies log book way to early in your career.

when i started out i blew by a inspection area in N.M. and you better believe he came after me.

cost around 150.oo best i recall

imo, that was a piurty lousy marked inspect. site. temp. as it was, their were 2 signs at ground level and their verision of open was 2 flags at the top corners of the sign. in my defense i was only accumstomed to flashing light or a sign saying OPEN...

year and half later it still has not shown up on my DMV record, pulled it 2 months ago.(dmv)
