    I was confused as the first picture you pasted was a day cab with no name on the door, and then suddenly, it was a sleeper log truck.

    Well, if all you need is a few chains or straps, that's all good....

    On my log truck, I don't need much tie down gear, 2 wrappers, but I carry a spare and one chain, for emergencies, it all goes in the bark basket between the frame rails, no need for boxes.
    those side mounted chains would be great especially for lowboy work, but would be full of snow and ice here. lol

    Not homemade but used. Not my truck number, either... and step box on top will be on the rails when there's time. $1700 for both of them and they're priceless for keeping equipment in order and free of road debris when not in use. 33915.jpeg 33918.jpeg

    I hung a pair of those protech steps on the bosses truck that he had on the shelf. Be lost without em.

    By the way, coil cleaner and a garden hose will do a number on grimy aluminum in a hurry. Just dont let it sit too long. Itll make a crusty aluminum engine look new.

    Right now I'm using a little "Bar Keepers Friend", Scotch-brite pads and elbow grease...LoL
    The wheel was just a test to show wifey how it will look finally cleaned up.

    Oven cleaner is the best paint remover for data plates.

    Coil cleaner is for HVAC.. You spray it into the aluminum fins of a dirty heat exhanger, it reacts and foams which pushes the fur and fuzz out, then water flood it all off. But it will corrode aluminum if it sits too long. When its smoking hose it down.

    Figure youre gonna buff off .002" or hose it off. Id rather hose the rough top layer then fluff n buff it back to a nice pattern.

    Nu-brite is one popular brand. Itll burn ya so be careful. Spray bottle or pump sprayer application. They probably also make an aerosol, not certain.
