I have not seen any that you can not put a piggyback on YET. I have seen some healthy looking ones that has the cage bolt permanitly installed. They are suppose to be a severe service chamber, but I don't even know what they are called or who makes them.
From what info I have found, if I was going out and buying replacements, I would go with the long stroke, but since I have probably 12 or so short strokes and that many or more piggybacks on hand, I am going back with the short strokes.stillwurkin Thanks this. -
I bought my trk used. That may be why one slack adjuster sticks out farther when set. I thought it was out of adjustment, but it wasn't. Shoes wear pretty much equal. Never had any that all wore the same you know as far as reline time. Yeah those new no clamp maxies were on my friends new t-680. He had one leak and the trk wasn't even 1 yr old. He went to change it and no bolts on the clamp. Think he took trk back and had them change them out. Also they are on new chassis we pull. I would go with the long stroke also. Honestly i don't know what mine has. But i carry a piggyback with me for parking lot repair. Gonna say roadside repair, but not ready to die yet.Dino soar Thanks this.

If you have one sticking out further than the rest and they are in adjustment, it is because someone changed it and cut the rod to long.

I have had to cut the bands off on side of the road because all I had was a piggyback. Been that way on our 2015 up Paccar product, that is why we keep a long stroke welded clevis on service trucks. We have some Heil trailers that have non-serviceable TSE branded brake chambers, and knock on wood I haven't changed one and trailers are old as 2004. Seems to hold up better than even MGM chambers.stillwurkin Thanks this.
