Also with a tank wouldn't you have the same tank trailer most of the time instead of drop & hooks and wouldn't that be a benifit ?

Drop and hook can cost you a lot of time. Flat tires, lights don't work. mud flaps missing, 10 hours later when it is fixed and ready to roll you are on the road!:biggrin_2556:

I worked there 2.5 years and quit around 6 or 7 times. I kept going back because it was home
I knew everyone and how things worked but....

Slow trucks, small paychecks due to lack of miles. Short hauls. Pedantic environment and dashcam etc. Balkan Express out of Ft Worth in my new home but we dont train or hire poor drivers.

I did a 50 hour retrain when I went to swift with the craziest trainer I ever met. Overall I am glad I worked there for a few years working out the kinks but could never go back to that environment. Dashcam ruined Swift. Now the short hauls while they give the long hauls to the railroad will finish the company off. It gets smaller by the day while they live on corporate welfare training African "refugees".

About once a day I find myself saying to a swift driver after they do something stupid "Hey Swift, there is a reason you are driving a slow truck. Do you know what that is dumb-###? Oops! I just gave away the answer!"

They are not as bad as they once were 5 years ago and now that their trucks do 65 we mostly leave them alone as long as they are not in the hammer lane.

I think it is an above average place to learn and recommend them for that but after a year it would be time to move on to something better.

Swifts a great company for new drivers. Can get all kinds of experience from under the same roof (local, dedicated, flatbed)

Theres swift drivers that have more experience on the road than alot of people in this forum. Swift is a great company to get ur foot in the door. Plenty of guys on this forum have had their training thru swift and gone on to bigger and better things , but aome of us remeber where we came from and are thankful for the opportunity presented to us . before u bash a company , take a look in the mirror. Because this industry and what it represents is just a reflection of our own thought process and the way we go about life.
