Not yet,
Last word was, It's sitting on the governors desk.
-
My guess is that it will be veto'd like the other governors did. -
My guess is he won't sign it and it will become law without his signature after 60 days. Maybe I should send him a letter to help him make up his mind --
"Dear Governor, Please hurry and sign the bill doing away with the split speed limit in your state. After it goes into effect, you should see a huge increase in your road safety statistics since all of the drivers that fall asleep in Illinois while doing 55 mph will be able to stay awake and won't run over the 4 wheelers that are zipping around them to get off at the next exit. If you get it into law by this weekend, I'll be able to get home to Michigan about 4 hours earlier since I can actually drive a reasonable speed through your state -- OK, maybe it won't be 4 hours sooner -- it will only SEEM like 4 hours sooner. Besides, Illinois seems to hate big trucks, so if you raise the speed limit, the ones that are just passing through will be gone much quicker
. Thank you for your consideration."
What do you think, will it work?
