I have 3:36's on full size 24.5 tires and a 13spd. I often haul heavy (over 100k) with no problems. At 60mph in 12th gear it cruses right along at about 1350 (ideal for Acert) Also anything over 65mph I run 13th which is right about the same RPM at 70mph. I ordered the truck with 3:70's and KW switched them without asking. I was mad at first but after having them for about 3 years I have no complaints. On the other hand the top speed is around 115mph. KW said they had complaints with fuel mileage because people were trying to spec the newer trucks like the did the older ones. with the acert you need to "gear fast, run slow"panhandlepat Thanks this.

That truck is an ex Marten Transport truck. Depending on who drove it, it could be in good or bad shape.

Where are the rest of the gauges?!?!

What are daylight doors? I thought they were the doors on a Kenworth where the window area dropped down on the fore side.

Your right on the money native peterbilt does not have daylights.
Native Dancer Thanks this. -
No problems. I've had about every common gear ratio and this is fine for this engine. It would be a little much for an older higher rev engine. I've had a T800 with 4:88's, T600 with 4:55's and multiple W900's with anywhere from 3:90's to 3:70's and this is the first 3:36. Every truck gets faster, the way I see it you can always down shift but when your flat on the floor at 65 or 70mph your reliability and fuel economy go down the toilet.

That's what I thought and was confused when the ad said it has daylight doors.
