What Legal Weapons of Choice is allowed for our OTR drivers?

It's got nothing to do with how long anyone's been driving. When you're stupid you're stupid. Sounds like you've been put down a few times because you're new. You have to be better than to fall for that kind of crap and prove to everyone you've got it together. When you show it doesn't bother you what others think or say and you let your performance speak then you'll come out on top. We've all been there.

California does not have Peaceable Journey laws (though most states do).

As to whether or not a person is capable or willing to use a firearm is self defense is a question only the individual can answer.

Me??? If he intends me harm I'll kill the MF with my ink pen, my bare hands, my pistol, tire tool...whatever is handy.

And I won't lose a wink of sleep over it.

This is getting easier everyday...Castle Doctrine type laws are going on the books everywhere all the time.

He said CA is not TX...and thats true, but there are waaay more states that are very similar to TX.

In fact...only CA, NY, IL, NJ, WI and maybe 1 or 2 more New England states are problems. The rest of the states have accepted that self defense is something that is on peoples minds and cops are too heavy to carry.

 

There in lies the problem,point is they haven't been driving as long as they want people to believe.

When speaking with the majority these days all the drivers have been driving 14-16 years.(been this way for the last 15 or so years)

Truth be known they haven't been away from driving school for much more then 3-5 years

I call BS on all of them at the first chance,first words outta their face is,
MY DADDY TAUGHT ME how to drive when I was 14 years old . . . . . .

 

But in some cases thats true...my Dad did teach me, I drove a truck before I drove a car...and I wasn't even 14 yet.

I get what you're saying though...it is often BS.

 

It's usually easy to spot the ones that "claim" to been driving since they we're kids. Talk is always cheap. First truck I drove was a twin stick mack log truck at the ripe old age of 13, had to scab some wood on the clutch so I could push it in far enuff. lol

 

Even if your armed your best defense is your head not the gun. I've talked on here before about having to use my concealed weapon, so I won't beat that horse again. But if I had not been aware of my surroundings I would have been hard pressed to get it drawn in time. Probly still would've had time to draw if "suprised" but might have took a round myself.

Far as losing sleep over using the gun, Has never kept me awake one second, other than wondering what would've happened if I had not been armed. Everyone has fight or flight wired into them & more people than you would think has what it takes to use deadly force to protect them & their property. Just take a look every month in American Hunter at the Armed Citizen section!!

After walking around with my heavy metal Kubotan on the key ring for these last few months, I've thought a lot about when and where it might be used, and logically I see that I don't get attacked very often...being a fairly fit 210...but logic leaves the building in the case of the bad boyz.
Will I pull my punches with it? Absolutely not, save for trying not to kill someone by entering their head with it. Are head shots the best? Absolutely in the way of normal fighting, but the Kubo is for breaking bones too, and you can't hit me with a broken collarbone, can't chase me with a broken kneecap, etc.
Would I kill a man? I dunno, probably depends on wether he's trying to smoke me or not. Robbery will get you hurt for sure, unless you have the upper hand on me. I'm not stupid enough to try and keep the wallet by taking a bullet.
Also, I've been in the courthouses, city halls, county offices, talked with cops, and have yet to have anyone say a word about it, save for "what's that thing?"

 

You are correct. Its very hard to obtain a CCW permit in those states and there is NO reciprocity agreements to be had either. Assault weapons are still banned in some of those states as well as mags over ten rounds.
