So if that goes through we will essentially have a 17 hour day, just what the super-truckers and megas want. No incentive to pay detention, that "free" three hours will be added into a normal work day. Hooray for us, we got "flexibility".

Yeah!!! Finally a 17 hour workday.
14 hours is for lazy people!!!!
.
Plus more split breaking. 10 hours off is way too long. I want to split my breaks so I can drive and drive and drive and make tons more money.
.
Oh darn, that pesky 70 hour rule will mean I really can’t drive more and make more money, I’ll just have a longer workday and lots of shorter breaks. And I can take a 3 hour break and leave the truckstop and go deliver and come right back to a 15 dollar Reserved Spot to take my 7 hour break.

I stand against this rule change idea. It will confuse unnecessarily those who run for Flipflop Express.
All that needs to do is go back to 1962 HOS and leave it alone.dirthaller, buddyd157, LtlAnonymous and 1 other person Thank this. -
Heard this on the Dave Nemo show this morning. I personally like the up to 3 hour pause. I wish the 30 minute break was outright eliminated but this is at least better.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
To much confusing propositions for me

Works for me. Watch the various PATT, Railroad, and other "safety" interests line up against a potential 17 hour workday. Oh the humanity.
Let the lawsuits begin.Snailexpress and x1Heavy Thank this. -
What were the rules like back in your time?x1Heavy Thanks this. -
