I have a felony for theft and misdemeanors - can I be a truck driver?

Thanks for the info. Yeah they are all calling it a conviction. But I'll be finishing up paying my probation off in a few weeks. All I have to do then is wait for them to do the paperwork and get me to see the judge. Best case scenario I might get released from probation by December. From what I am being told when I complete the probation that the charge will be dismissed and the only thing on my record will be the arrest. But I don't believe everything I hear, so I'll see what happens.

At one time Swift had a deal with the gooberment to hire recent felons, with the gooberment paying a portion of their wages, iirc it was just a 5 year deal so has expired, but some other company may now have it.
I do not understand why every body thinks they have to start out with mega otr companies though. there are all sorts of smallish companies to get a start, and I bet some of them are owned by felons.

Anyway I agree with the others Theft is one thing not tolerated in this industry.

However Felons do work on getting on the road. It is literally the last possible form of employment of some kind after the former Prisoner has been clubbed beyond reason by a society after the time is served.
