You know your truck, but really it’s no different than any other lonely stretch of road. There are a few small towns, just not much in the form of services. I’ve always enjoyed getting off the beaten path. You’ll be on the other side of the mountains you can see west of the salt flats.

Would be neat to see the other side of the flats.
Truck is fine, I trust it, I iust don't trust other people.

    Ill probably take it.

I.just don't really care too much about scenery anymore. I remember the days when Id have a camera ready to take pictures. Now I hardly even care. I just see another giant mound of rock here, some trees there, flat land there. The only thing that really matters is if Im getting good fuel economy.

And also where is the wind blowing?

I wouldn't worry about the risks too much, the last I knew the calvary had the indians somewhat under control, and there might even be another adventurous trucker or two along, in case they do get you.

There's no risk in taking 30.

Guess he missed the post that said trucks run it with no problems.

I guess you missed the part where I explained what I meant by risk.

My truck is in pretty good shape. But that doesn't mean something can't go wrong. And it would suck if something did go wrong in the middle of fcking nowhere. And you said it yourself, no phone signal. Yeah, I wouldn't call that "no risk".

If you have satellite communications it's all good.

That also would encourage you to look into a Sat Phone. It's pricey, but in places like that would do well if there is a problem.

All this talk about quiet mountain roads and scenery I find motivating.

Might as well run them now before winter gets settled in.

    LMAO

Your killing me, come up north and maybe run the cassier, it has been sissified, now, so there is probably some traffic, but I have ran the whole 450 miles of it and only met two trucks on the south end of it where the mine is a couple of times. Only two businesses open on it during the winter one helicopter ski resort and one restaurant and I wouldn't stop at either one in an emergency.

Then perhaps you shouldn't be coming to the west coast.

Cuz unlike the east coast. We gots dead spots everywhere. Too risky for you.

BTW. Wasn't it you that was asking about that route?

When it comes to cell service. Either way is a gamble and a risk.

That's trucking. It's the nature of the beast.
