If that’s your plan then I would say go for it if it would work for that reason! You probaly won’t make much money and will probaly have some language barrier with all the Hispanics but that sounds like a smart move to go back to school best of luck to ya

Look at the junk they drive.
There always broke,
There always complaining about low rates,
The always on strike somewhere,
They got no benefits,
No healthcare,
No 401 k,
Nothing.
I'm mean really, what's the lure.
Is it the rusty trucks or the rusty containers.
It can't possibly be the money. -
Sir I don't really care what other drivers drive or complain about.I started this subject to get something positive IF there is something positive.I thought hauling containers would benefit my needs which I had expressed above
I have one question for you since you mentioned MONEY
What is a GOOD MONEY for you in this business?18 wheels of fury Thanks this. -
My former coworker pulls containers and brings home about 2100 to 2300 every two weeks. He's paid by the hour and it's been working for him for two years now. I will call him tomorrow and find out what company it is.
As far as junk equipment. I was on 610 in a traffic jam 3 weeks ago. And I couldn't believe my eyes. There it was a freight liner FLD flat top. That had been jackknifed in the past. The sleeper look like I swift wind would take what was left of it straight off the truck. I was amazed that the truck was driving on a interstate!! The sleeper was literally hanging off to one side. And you could tell the damage wasnt new.
I dont have anything against Mexicans. But man most of the trucks they drive around Houston are beyond junk!!!
As stated earlier Air Products is a high 5 figure job and you can break into 6 figures easily there. AP is the highest paying private cryo company for local or team driving in this area.
Why go after a masters when you can make 6 figures in a truck? Maybe you want to make 6 figures and work 8hrs a day. -
I want to get 6 figure job as a truck drive and I d go for it even if that takes more hours of working.I am just looking to find something that will fit my needs since I want to go back to school finish my master.I have to check out with air products
-
That sounds like a great plan to finish your masters but air products is a career job that will take dedication and probaly starting out on night shift ! If your just needing something with flexible hours and not a whole bunch of pay I’d probaly look in to one of the mega carriers around Houston area that will probaly have something to fit your needs maybe a early start time with early get off so you can finish school! But if you wanted to stay in to trucking and get with a great company air products is the way to go in my opinion! I run co2 out of Mississippi and make more than double the average salary around here with great benefits and 401k!

Transforce, centerline or a staffing companies if you want flexibility and home everyday.
