I often times say it's all because of those two twins called Grace and Mercy.

####, man. Assuming I remember my mile posts correctly, that means I was in town when that happened, and it was affecting I-70 and I-465 as well. This explains SO much

    Bud A. Thanks this.

Elwood is especially NOTORIOUS (surveillance cameras and all) for cracking down on trucks running on weight prohibited roads(mostly because of the can haulers running to the warehouses and/or the UP intermodal railyard nearby).

  8. indeed so lot try to take that shortcut down 53 and get nailed..
makes it so enticing though because of the fact of those nightmares on that River bridge down by Arsenal.
Many try rolling 53 some lucky on the day the rollers not busy but many get their big fines...

    mjd4277 Thanks this.

and UPS being union, the driver will get a verbal warning, and a new truck.

    anyone else would get canned.

I don’t think so. Indiana ain’t letting him go with just a slap on the wrist-not by a long shot. After what happened over the past month elsewhere in the state, they’re gonna eat that driver alive.
Not to mention there’s going to be impending lawsuits from that accident.
    (lawyers wet dream)
The Land Rover he hit is gonna cost more than some medical bills alone (they start around $38K and go as high as $89K depending on the model and trim level). Factor in the fines associated with hitting cars in this accident and everybody’s injuries, not to mention the loss of three vehicles, let alone UPS’ two trucks and this accident will set UPS back seven figures, maybe eight figures!
