I'd like to have detention fee imposed on shippers and receivers by the government - a guaranteed sitting at a dock fee. I'd concentrate on US Foods, Walmart, Kroger, Kraft Foods... my favorite place would be Tolleson, AZ and Granite City, IL Get rid of HOS and give me mandatory detention!

They need to make Wal Mart provide parking on their property, for early arrivals. Mainly a local issue, but no one forces it due to economics. I see Trucks parked everywhere but where they belong around all the DCs. It’s dangerous sometimes. Meanwhile Wal Mart has acres of open space. Shame on Wal Mart.

Exactly, no guess work anymore, except with detention, everyone suddenly has no idea. Lol. The lack of detention is a big problem. No other industry puts up with it. Ask a plumber or Electrician to sit on the porch for 2 hours till you get home. You’ll be charged $200 for sure.

It's private property. They don't owe you a place to park.Rideandrepair and KB3MMX Thank this.

And the same thing that is happening with ELD's will happen with speed limiters, the members of ATA that lobbied for it will be the first to apply for (and receive) exemptions.KB3MMX Thanks this.

Detention pay is there for the taking.
Nobody is stopping anyone from paying it.
It's just that you're competing with carriers that don't, or don't care, or just are in the habit of cutting their losses and moving on.
Don't blame the brokers or the customers. Blame your competition. That's where the problem is.KB3MMX, PPLC, roshea and 1 other person Thank this. -
And they won't stop until it's implemented..... Expect speed limiters next 5 years.
These communists can't be stopped.

I don’t think they owe it to me, they owe it to the community around the D.C. It’s bad bussiness practice, IMO. Obviously they don’t Have to do anything.
