Settle down Opus. Nothing wrong with questions. I have my expenses very, very much in line and I net around 53% of gross, so I'm impressed as hell, especially with a 2100/month truck payment.

I think I would be unhappy at 53%.
But, it all depends on how you count the money.
Might be more, might be less. There's a 1001 different ways to tally it.

Actually, I'm sure I'd be unhappy at 53%.

The goal is to net 50% for most owner operators. I'm really starting to think some of you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Is someone else paying for your fuel? So I'm calling BS unless I see some numbers.

I just ran my numbers.......all in including taxes (estimated at $15k/y), repairs, cpa fees, and truck payments....(fuel, tolls, insurance, permits, and whatnot is already figured by Schneider), I'm at 0.5191638858861682.
    There ya go.

Now that's what I'd expect. That's right about where I am, so I don't get the whole "I'd be unhappy with 53%" stuff. The goal is always to net at least half of what you gross. Anything more is great, but when you start talking netting 65 or 70 %, something is getting left out, unless your equipment is all paid for, but even then you should have a replacement tractor/trailer line item.

Even if I took out the truck payment it would be in the 55% range......but, my experience has been that you just move the truck payment number to the 'repair' column, and you essentially end up with the same result.
