Got back from another "Drive with Dad Saturday" adventure with my daughter. Started out in my pickup, but er..yeah, she's not ready to deal with it's quirks just yet so we swapped to the car.

Fun seeing the little improvements here and there. She only scared the ghost out of me once when she took a turn a little bit too hot, but other than that it was just casual conversation and good bonding time.

Made a joke with her about how my plan was to get her comfortable driving my truck so I could just let her drive that, and I could get the car I want. She replied "Yeah, I kind of figured that was the case. I'm on to you, Mr. Transparent"

Amazing. Only things on the whole truck to not be seized are the front spring pins. 12" Crescent and they spun right out. 20190817_122908.jpg

Shop I work at provides a fully loaded snap on box for every mechanic so I have everything at home now.

Really? That’s interesting, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of a shop providing tools. That’s every shop mechanic I knows complaint. They have $100,000 worth of tools and they’re all at work.

Spoke to the machine shop. Said to email them some photos and they'd give me a rough quote as to what it will cost for hot tank and machining. Thinking mid October I'll drop the block, crank, cam and head off and get it done. I'd love to have the powertrain finished and ready to drop in next spring.

That's a first for me too. We work shifts so we share with another mechanic on the opposite week. I think its to do with space more than anything.
