The "big 5" used to waive the paid parking fee if you got fuel there. They still do that?
It may be in the fine print....FlaSwampRat, Dave_in_AZ and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
You mean all 300 spots are paid parking?
Thats worse than the mega chains...
Free if you buy fuel? or eat there?FlaSwampRat and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Yep 60 gallons or more free parking. Otherwise the entire lot is paid parking. Sucks because u could fit probably 400 trucks in thereInTooDeep, FlaSwampRat, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this.

You talk about a HUGE revenue swing- Even if 200 pay everyday 7 days a week..thats $15,400 per week $60,000 per month, With no extra investments....What a Deal!!!
FlaSwampRat, Dave_in_AZ and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
It's probably because a lot of drivers park there but don't buy anything. They've got to pay the bills somehow.kemosabi49, FlaSwampRat, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this.

Yeah but jeseus chri......Thats Insane- Thats like a 1000% increase in revenue for jj's....
Maybe they can pave that place in 3 months..SheeshFlaSwampRat, Dave_in_AZ and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Yeah but that dirt lot in the back has pot holes bigger than an entire school buss thats been blowed up. I wouldnt mind paying for parking at a real nice place, but i havent comw across a truck stop that i actually said to myself "u know what id definatly pay to park here" . i will take my business elsewhere.it just means all the other stops on i30 are gonna,be even more packed then they already wereFlaSwampRat, Dave_in_AZ and stayinback Thank this.

Maybe they could. Asphalt thick enough for a truck to drive on, costs a mega-####-ton of money. When you're just scraping by with enough to make payroll, paving the lot (or even grading it for that matter) is out of the question.Suspect Zero, FlaSwampRat, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this.

Yeah....If Im going to Dallas or H-town, I always stop at jj's for a 10 outta chicago.
My Thinking is this- Some Top Notch business executive musta went in there and educated the owner in ways he never seen before, Stating things like "You have all this Land, and 30% of yfreight coming from the upper midwet will HAVE to stop here for the night, Your revenue will be thru the roof" And the owner 'Bought It'....And Now the end result.FlaSwampRat and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
