In your eyes it's a burden however some people are counting on it for retirement. I won't disagree about the blunder it has became.

Now every president has looted it for cash. But is not gonna go broke. That is a myth. If it's just the socialist idea of it I can understand that too. However I like police and fire service. That is a socialist idea. I also like helping the actual less than fortunate.

Hey btw I know we are flirting with political rules of the room. I however enjoy a good conversation and respect your opinion. This is not a conversation to cause a conflict at all. So please dont take anything I say that way. It's not meant to be.

You realize that entitlements, Medicare, Medicaid, social security etc are over 70% of our budget? It was never supposed to be that way. The government has zero business planning for my retirement that’s my job.

But medicare is a prepaid service, not a entitlement. That would be to never pay for it and expect it.

Where does it end? They always show pictures of starving children and they ask for money and they will tell you about the child you helped, etc.
But 40 years ago, there were 20 million starving children, now there are 80 million. Guess what doesn’t work? Throwing money at them. It breeds irresponsibility.

“But Six, you would let them die...children?”

One of their own would have to stand up and teach them to fish. If you teach a man to fish, he will act responsibly. Give him the fish and he will be irresponsible.

Give American kids free schooling, and you will have ANTIFA and mass shootings on every block. Make him pay his own way and he will act responsibly.

So you pay taxes, is fire service a entitlement when your house is on fire or do they show up regardless of who you are or financial status. I agree it's a flawed system, no you should not rely on it for retirement. However you never know the future that may happen. And some people are gonna rely on it. One thing I learned 6 years ago when my wife had a life emergency is non of it matters. It about broke us. Never had any assistance. You will sell your soul in that situation and all savings, retirement. You will never know the future.

Hey @johndeere4020 , maybe I missed it, but is your new truck getting the goodies installed on it now? It seems like you should have received it from the dealer by now.
