Its a shipper market and they know it, some of the dispatches i've gotten in the last 2 months are insane. Literally starting 10-20 hours behind, to make the delivery appt times.

I’m living, breathing proof of this. Took off from trucking for 3 years and went back to wrenching. Got asked to go back to a company I’d hauled floats for years before. It’s like riding a bike.. you can jump back into it (if you’re experienced) relatively easy without falling over too many times.

That's why I moved to a fuel hauling joint. Fuel work year round with lots of seasonal extras. Still waiting for asphalt to pick up though...

Do you mostly pull from a refinery, tank farm, or rail cars?
    Or some from all three?

    Zeviander Thanks this.

Haven't started fuel yet. Still on probation, lol. Once asphalt season is done, they are moving me into fuel. I don't think Winnipeg has refineries, so probably tank farms. Esso and Shell from what I gather.

Now we have a clear pictures for the next recession no politics just business. Is all over the news for 2020. I know friends that they’re selling their houses for big profits they’re renting now and when recession hits they will buy cheap, same happened on 2008. the bubble will pop up next year.

This, i'm busting ### to pile up cash (Business/Personal), pay off everything, and get together the max cash payment I can (without penalty) on my mortgage renewal next year. Its coming fast, starting to see the truck/trailer/home repo's again in Calgary. People Getting laid off like 2008/2014 is starting again, and the outfit i'm leased onto is now in a hiring freeze with a 2 year time stamp.

It's starting to get fairly slow, my buddies who run dump trucks have started to sell some of them. LTL seems a bit slow too, worked 4 days last week and 3 days the week before that. But when it's busy those are 24 hour shifts. My dad's workplace cut pay by $1 an hour. Many other companies I know cut milage pay and hourly. It's not getting better at all.

Going to get a lot worse. If folks are selling equipment this early in the recession, it shows you how bad their business plans are. Sadly the majority I fear. Those who can survive it, will be making gobs of cash on the other side.
