Freymiller ?

I guess it's the typical with this industry. Higher pay but low miles or lower pay with high miles.

I will say this Freymiller equipment looks like its setup for driver comfort.

 

I used to know a chick who left a local gig for FM. Said she loved it. The trucks do look nice, however.

 

The trucks are nice, mostly 9 spd manuals but they do have autos. As far as I know they all come with 1500w inverters and if you get lucky enough to get a 2019 or 2020 they also come with refrigerator preinstalled. They also have in-dash touchscreen radio/GPS. But if you are a taller person beware; most of their trucks are mid-roof sleepers.

 

The trucks are spec nice and 19 and 20 have refrigerator's installed. Very nice place to work very friendly. Especially the chaplain hes good to talk too

 

One thing to consider also is that 15.5cpm is tax free per diem pay without a company surcharge for enrolling. Accesorial pay is there as well, better than some, not as good as others.

The thing I really like is that, for the most part, they leave you alone! That’s assuming you’re on time of course. I went 3 weeks without a phone call from dispatch awhile back. Only communication was when they sent me a new load over peoplenet.

They’re far from perfect, but seem to make an effort to take care of their drivers from my limited experience thus far. The few times I’ve had issues, they were resolved quickly with a phone call or email to the right person.

 

The few times you had issues what was the problems and how did they resolve it?

 

I’ve had a couple payroll issues. Once on a multi stop load, they only paid me for the miles from shipper to first stop, and also failed to reimburse for lumper charges. That load ended up being a negative amount on my check for what should have been an $1100 load. When I contacted payroll, they were very apologetic, got it corrected for the next check, and offered to give me a cash advance for the full amount until then. I’ve had a few issues with detention pay. It is supposed to be automatic but I think there’s a glitch in the system bc the alert only pops up about half the time(for me at least). Fortunately I keep a spiral notebook with all my load info in it; dates/times, locations, anything unusual that happens, etc, and was able to reference it. They corrected the shortage each time, but sometimes it takes a few weeks to come through payroll.

Other than that, I just have a bit of a personality clash with my dm, but I can’t blame the company for that. Just trying to bite my tongue as best I can and pick my battles. I’ve gotten to where I won’t answer the phone or call them unless absolutely necessary, and all our communication is through the email system so there’s a paper trail. This person has a tendency to say one thing over the phone, but then if there’s an issue all of a sudden they have no idea what I’m talking about and it’s all my fault. Hoping we can work though it, but eventually I may request a different one if we can’t. Once again I don’t want this individual to reflect poorly on the company, bc honestly, they’re great! Night and weekend dms are awesome, and I try to deal with them whenever possible over my assigned DM.

 

Do you guys have to purchase fuel at certain places is or is wherever you want? How many miles was that $1100.00 load?

 

Nothing i hate more than when my check isn't right and I have to chase my money around.

Sounds to me what they say and what you get are two different things.

 

TA, Petro, or Loves. I wanna say it was between 1600-1800 miles, but that was a couple months ago so I’d have to lookup paystubs to be sure. It was a 7 or 8 stop load from Vernon, CA with a tour of Texas deliveries. Extra $50 stop pay added up plus it was a Bon Appetite pastry load so lots of detention time when there’s 200+ cases/pallet to be checked in.
