If I was you I would keep on losing money. It seems to be benefiting you.
On a side note, my daily fixed costs whether my truck moves or not is $145 a day. Take off my truck and trailer payment and I'm right with ya.

I've no trailer costs. Truck 2 is a little more because it's twice as much money, so the insurance cost is also twice as much. But so far the maintenance is lower.
Truck 3 is unknown yet. It's payment is a smidge under 2's. Insurance cost unknown so far.blairandgretchen, dwells40 and RStewart Thank this. -
Well there’s gonna be maintenance for running any miles, plus the truck wasn’t free and the next truck won’t be either, so we have to deduct for maintenance and next truck.
Then there’s the FICA tax and the health insurance premium.
So the numbers are misleading. -
But Dave, you never mention the $100 every other day for a truck wash followed by $20 for the lot boy to polish the rims and another $20 for the lizard to polish the knob. $140 x 3= $420 you should have spent in "Housekeeping"
You also seem to have overlooked the average of $200 per day in roadside repairs from running old beat down equipment. $1400 to cover call outs and repairs.
You're also stacking loads too tight. You should not have done the Second load cause you had not spent 2 days calling brokers or "good customers" from the drivers lounge. Neither did you allow enough time for repairs and Chrome installation.
So I have it as you made $10 the first trip and the second trip does not count cause you should not have scheduled your time so well.thelushlarry, dwells40, Coffey and 2 others Thank this. -
Just find this thread so I'm just wondering that 75 is for food/fun right? So do you/they cook your own food or eat out. I been getting interested in what I could cook on the road and stay healthy
-
The $75 is the cost of my truck, maintenance, overhead. 365 days a year. That's the cost for the last 2 years.
This is just an actual cost of operation post(s).
B.O. touched on a bunch of the intangibles, and there are many.
But those numbers are the actual costs. -
Yeah, I knew you pulled their trailers. I guess I missed the part about you having two other trucks. Cool deal.Coffey and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Truck 3 is just getting on the field of play. I've purchased it, it's the white one a page or two back, it's sitting at Freightliner.
Driver's going through qualifications. Should be on the road first week of September.
Truck 2 has been going for 9 months, and may make more than I will this year lol.blairandgretchen, HopeOverMope, thelushlarry and 3 others Thank this. -
That's cool man. You let the drivers dispatch themselves?Coffey Thanks this.
-
They have that option.blairandgretchen, RStewart and dwells40 Thank this.
