Statements like this is why we're losing our freedoms. I don't have anything to hide either, but I dont need a camera pointing at me 24/7 while driving.
You're full of it.
The statements you're making is that of someone who doesnt respect the right to privacy.
You put a camera in your truck that you control. Why don't you turn that control over to someone else and let them choose to record you whenever they want?TokyoJoe, Gearjammin' Penguin, Linte_Loco and 1 other person Thank this. -
if you think that as an o/o, you cannot do as your insurance carrier says/demands, you're in for a very rude awakening.
this country is not as free as you think, when some things are required.
good luck.NavigatorWife, bryan21384 and CorsairFanboy Thank this. -
They might get fired for using phone while driving, reaching for something while driving, picking their nose while driving, eating while driving, adjusting radio while driving, letting their hands move from "10 and 2" , seat belt too loose, etc, etc, etc.Gearjammin' Penguin, NavigatorWife, bryan21384 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Craigslist, Indeed, unemployment office, etc.tarmadilo Thanks this.

My thing is I will deal with uncomfortable situations but I won’t do it free. You want driver facing cameras? Better pay me .60 base plus company provided per diem and minimum $1k weekly guarantee and on W-2. After that you can put that camera in the sleeper watching me jerk off for all I care.
Otherwise I’m out. Not going to make scraps and have a pencil pusher call me on why I’m not doing my mandatory mirror checks every 5 seconds.Gearjammin' Penguin, jcrack08 and stayinback Thank this. -
New drivers coming into trucking will accept the cameras just like they accept Elogs. They dont know any different and most dont have any idea that paper logs is what drivers used a couple years ago.
NavigatorWife, Cattleman84, tscottme and 3 others Thank this. -
Almost 5 yrs, own authority, don't see any rude awakening in my future. If I don't the like terms offered ,I have and will switch carriers. Then again, I've had no claims ever. However, like I said, if for whatever reason they demanded it, I'm free to accept or refuse. I'd drop them in a heartbeat.NavigatorWife and rachi Thank this.

I'm glad that in addition to being a tough trucker, you're also a psycho therapist. And people quit the industry all the time. Heck, I'm leaning towards it myself and it has nothing to do with dumb ### cameras.
Stay in your lane and be the "yes man" that you are. The industry can't get enough of you.TokyoJoe Thanks this.
