You may have, the owner put a pic somewhere on FB of it out west around Donner pass or somewhere. Engine is blown up right now. Somebody put a 1992 N14 in it. He wants to switch it to a Cat at some point. He took the trans out and I helped him
Put it in his 79 A model.

Oxbow, Ruthless and MJ1657 Thank this.

I wondered if Monfort would have had a ELD big enough to handle what they used to do back in the day.

So many memories even if it's watching them making time far ahead.

Monfort was the big strapper on I 70-80,back then, but Carolina Western ruled the roost on the southern east west routes,I 10-40. Carolina to Shakey 48 hours. Remember always being in awe of them passing me on the straights in Az-NM back in the 70's. See that unmistakable maroon-black paint scheme, twin chimney big Pete 352 CO,coming up behind you in the mirrors. I'd put both hands on the wheel, they'd easily cruise by me,good 15-20 mph faster than I was going, rolling smoke, quick wave from the co-driver. Few minutes, out of sight. Rarely ever remember seeing one parked, usually at the fuel pumps, loading up. 1693TA Cats turned way up,13 speed double 00's.
Getting the job done. Even when the 55 crap came in,they never slowed down. Word was the company paid there tickets, hammer down!

OLDSKOOLERnWV, Gatordude and 7-UP Thank this.
  11. where is the mighty Monfort now out of Greeley Colorado? they can be found chugging along in their little maroon-colored JBS trucks..
did you realize that JBS at the time around 2008 or 2009 has the dubious honor of being the very first company mandated to e-logs??
they had illegals that word Mexicans that it worked at the plant they were given sets of keys to an allowed to haul freight thinking they would never get caught who are they kidding??
the whole JBS story is stuff that you could just roll your eyes and be like seriously
that they didn't even have driver's licenses operating their equipment all over until they got caught the feds basically told them at the time this is the way it is folks...
we're either going to shut you down and JBS Transportation shall cease to exist or you will go on to elog..
if you remember towards before the mandate went into effect in the final bill was drafted that was one of the things the feds were doing if you were a crap company with crap drivers with crap scores they would cut you a deal if you agreed to go on elog..
but how funny you talk about the once-mighty mom Ford of Greeley Colorado who are basically JBS Swift now but yet how far they fell as JBS has to dubious honor to this day of Ving the first company mandated to either get shut down by the. we're good close the doors and cease to exist in their transportation or go to elog..
I believe her some great stories back from the late 2000s turn that bush recession where you can actually Google that to JBS ordered to go on E log..
