Why not.

Yes but double check the size. I was looking at my radiator the other day and it looks bigger, maybe 3/4"? Any Volvo shop will know.
-
Yea idk probably so. Because the VOLVO brand part is like $70
-
No way I'd pay that. I just so happen to rent a parking spot from an industrial fittings supplier. The back door is always open when they're open. I'll drop by and ask them what it is because I need one too. I'll let you know but it may be a few days.
What cracks me up though is that Volvo gets a bad wrap for stuff like this but lots of times their stuff is cheaper than anyone else. I bought 75w-90 gear oil to do my rear diffs a couple weeks ago. Volvo sold me 5 gallon jugs for around $115 apiece when Fleetpride wanted north of $150. -
The Volvo drain hose is part # 9996049 and it's $78.87
The coupler size may be proprietary though as it has the Volvo part number stamped into it.86scotty Thanks this. -
Doesn't it thread on to the bottom of the radiator though? Couldn't you just change the whole fitting?
-
Don't even try!. Fitting is molded in plastic.
Fitting diameter is 3/4. I use garden hose and phillips screwdriver to push valve. The other end of the hose in plastic container from walmart with lid. To fill system apply deflate end of the pump for inflatable mattress to the top, push screwdriver and coolant going back. -
I believe it’s a special fitting you can find it online for much cheaper easy to break but if you don’t use it everyday I don’t need best quality.

The end has a nipple that pushes in the one way button in the drain port on the radiator.86scotty and HopeOverMope Thank this.
