Buying a truck in GA for use in TX

Do not buy a truck from lone mountain.

 

Temp tags and temp insurance will get you on the road legally. You are driving a dispatched CMV, so all weigh station and HOS rules are in force.

 

I'm just a company driver, never bought a truck.

I know what's needed from previous posts, just not how to get the stuff needed.
My guess. The dealership is your best bet for these answers. After all they deal with it all day long.

 

I bought my truck from Louisiana and I'm from Arkansas. The revenue office said for the 30 days I had Louisiana temp tags I could legally go wherever. Of course you need insurance immediately on it.

First you need insurance before they even let you leave the dealer.
You can go to dmv and get a temporary trip permit if the dealer doesn’t give you one but they should.

You can register the truck under your company and just get a lease agreement between John dough transport and crackhead express LLC
Not hard your company should be able to help you.

 

Make sure you can get a temp tag from the dealer or georgia, unless it has changed Tx does not have a way to buy a truck out of state and legally get it there. I forget the details, but before they will sell you any kind of tag, it has to be weighed on a certified scales and go through a Tx certified inspection station.
I do not know the whole shebang, but knew a couple of guys that bought a truck and fonally sold it because of the crazy tx wante dthem to go about licensing it.

Check and see, but you should not have to pay sales tax, if you are buying irp plates for it.
