This is the closest I could find of what I learned how to drive at 8yrs old .
My grandfather told me if he cuts himself with the chainsaw. I needed to be able to get him off the mountain.
I was trying to get it from him before he sold the property and all his stuff to live by my aunt's, (clutches)
to be "near " family that could look after him.. aka his money.
1955 Willey's 4wheel drive had transfer case with Granny gear.
I miss that jeep ..

@rank Mine are 1x2" pipe thread by 6" thread. I can look I think I have a spare in the shop in the box. I can look for part number next day I'm out there. But they are the people you need. High flow low noise. Last a long time. All metal.
Might be considered a industrial part, but pipe thread is pipe thread.1951 ford, PoleCrusher, cke and 5 others Thank this. -
@stwik. if your gonna have a steak in Toledo here is the place. I suggest adding the bone marrow encrusted topping to your steak. Just get a uber and make sure you have your wallet.

Not sure about parking, but I highly recommend Simon & Seiferts in Anchorage for an evening meal if you feel like splurging a bit!tony97905, 1951 ford, PoleCrusher and 14 others Thank this. -
Drove through a creek one spring, couldn't make it out the other side, water running over the back of the tailgate, grab the come-a-long, hook it to closest tree, winch it out, and away we went. Lots of trees in Northern Idaho, never worried about getting stuck.
Edit to add: As I recall, the front hubs had two bars to lock them in. They were attached on one end that would hinge. You had to pull the free end of the bar out and rotate it 180 degrees, then put it back. Pretty neat!
The transfer case had 2 levers. As I recall one was for low/high range and the other to engage front axle.Last edited: Aug 24, 2019
