I have a violation for following to close on my cdl that was the result of a rear end involving 2 commercial trucks. I know most companies want to know about your driving and accident record for the past 3 years. Will this be a non issue after 3 years? Or will this keep follwoing me.

As long as it comes back on a check of your license, it will be something for them to consider. It may mean more to some companies, and other companies may not think that much of it. But, their insurance company may play a big factor in it as well. May charge higher rates for you because of it, as long as it is on your record.

theres a ticket that should be written a lot more often, not flaming you pawnature just thinking of all the cars a even trucks that constantly tailgate each other.
going 70,75 mph and long lines of cars with less than 50 feet between them, if the cops would start writing people up for this before a accident happens there would be a lot less wreaks, not to mention road rage. -
"theres a ticket that should be written a lot more often," Well Gearjammmer you've put me in a position that I didn't want to be in. I ask a simple question? and Thank you CurtWayne for that answer. But I should have know some self rightious driver wouuld have to put his two cents worth in. But I am sure that you would never fall into the catagory of having to admit you're guilty. I was guilty of taping a JB hunt driver in the rear in knoxville tn at less that 5 mph, but then you wouldn't really want to know the circumstances.

It could be a issue. It just really depends on the company. Was the accident reported on your DAC? Also how long ago did you get the ticket?
-
Thanks for the response Bubba. Yes the accident is on my DAC and it will be 3 years this coming December.
-
Ok. After december it shouldn't be much of an issue.
-
Not necessarily, lots of companies go back 5 years now not just 3. Alot still only go back 3 also.
-
Very true. There are some companies that go back even 10, 15, or 20 years.
Point is, if it's on your DAC now, it might possibly show up later in a records check. -
Accidents and tickets on your Dac drop off after 7 years.Your Dac wont list any
company you worked for after 10 years. If a company you worked for goes out
of business it will only list that you worked for that company.Even accidents and
tickets wont show.Anything over 10 years old Dac wont release that information.
