I exclusively park and fuel at mom and pop truck stops and eat at their restaurants when possible. I'll settle for a country pride/iron skillet in a pinch and only stop at the fast food loves and pilot truck stops as a last resort. I like to eat real food and support the few real truck stops still around so they can stay around.

There is no more sit down restaurants,
And even if there was, you couldn't get 5 drivers
Together that speak the same language anyway.
So everybody just plays with their cellphones.

Oakland is basically a giant homeless camp now.

Yeah, a lot of blue collar industry in east bay, but most of those workers commute to those jobs. The middle class is almost extinct in California. It's all super wealthy and super poor. Not much in between is left compared to a couple decades ago.

You know how i know that 'we the people' arent in charge anymore?

Because there isnt a gravel truck only parking lot in every wasted grass triangle formed by almost every geton/getoff ramp in the country, with a chaingang of inmates on daily piss bottle duty.

Everything we do generates taxable money flows that pay for the whole friggin world to exist. For the paving budget and hwy dept budget and prisons budget. Trucking and the economy at large are inseparable. Youd think some gravel and a dumpster every 10 miles wouldnt be too much to ask. I havent been in a humble city hall or courthouse in a long time. But we cant have a taxpayer funded pisslot.

    "Blah blah liability blah blah"

Eff your liability. Im tired of parking tickets or swervin all over the road. My kids are liable to lose a meal or a parent over it.
