I love my Predator 10k. Just as good as my 102" on my pickup truck. However, the guy that makes Predator (Kale), is no longer building them due to health reason, until further notice anyhow.

If money is the issue, there is a reason the Wilson 2000 is the "truckers favorite". I really liked mine overall, but I never did 2k into it. I did use a Texas Star 670 with great success.

I know it is an old thread, but to revisit the original post of the thread, I found something I don't like about this radio...

It uses a special 6-pin mic (non standard 4-pin) that is designed for the bluetooth feature in the radio, and I haven't found a mic upgrade for it yet that will work on it. :( Yea, I would pick up LTD 29 nightwatch and weather band instead so you can use an aftermarket mic on it.

I'll bet that if you didn't need the BT feature, the standard ground, feed, and transmission wires could be wired right into the BT jack, so you could use any mike.

That or some kind of adapter could be fashioned for it to allow the 4 pin to connect without the BT feature (I would jump at that one in a heartbeat).:biggrin_25511:

I use the bluetooth feature more than I talk on the radio. My mike hangs just to the left of my radio overhead and the little hole in it where the phone mic is faces directly towards me. When I get a call I just push the blue button and talk. Don't even have to take the mic down.

Most any shop will have the 6 pin's(ends)
They take 10 minutes to bolt up to RK56/636L .
Any shop can also swap out the 6 pin on the radio just as easy.

Cobra hooked quite a few fish on this model :biggrin_25523:

Custom CB radios is modifying a 636 so that it works with the cobra blue tooth and still retains the blue tooth function.

    Hmm, that would be nice.

As far as swapping out the plug, I've thought about just tearing it apart and doing it myself, I just honestly haven't been able to even look at it yet. I may check into the shops though and see if there is some easy way to get a decent mic connected to it. While it may be the best mic I've seen on a stock Cobra, it still sucks, lol.
