According to the people I know that claim to be
“southerners” clearly state the barbecue is a noun and only means one thing “pig” everything else is grilling.

No doubt, I stopped at a little country store in northern Alabama once, near sand mountain I think is what it was called. There was hnd written sign by the road advertising Barbeque sanwiches.
I went in and there was a cashier and 3 guys leaning on the counter BSing, I think, it got quiet when I stepped through the door. lol
These good old boys were about as hillbilly as you could ever find anywhere.
I ask if they what kind they had, and was told in a long drawn out drawl, that there ain't but one kind of barbeque. lol
I said that is exactly the kind I wanted, gimme a couple of them. lolTrucker Kev Paid Tourist Thanks this. -
You're kidding, right? Bill Miller's is to BBQ what Taco Bell is to Mexican food, but at least Bill's has good breakfast tacos and good sweet tea.
The best BBQ in Texas is at Big E's in Lubbock, Harmon's in Cibolo, Wiatrek Meat Market in Poth and SA, Lum's in Junction, Howard's in Corpus Christi, The Country Tavern in Kilgore & Shreveport, Rudy's in Leon Springs, and just about every place in Lockhart. Honorable Mentions: Hard 8 in Stephenville and Bodacious in Kilgore. The Cattle Call in Amarillo was good too, before it closed down. -
I can't speak of that, I just know the business is ran by patriots who deserve my support.
-
Ah man, the cattle call closed down?
-
Some lifelong family friends who still live in the panhandle told me it closed down several years ago.

Been to Cattle Call a few times. Parked way out by the edge of the mall parking lot and no one bothered me. Was OK, but as i said earlier, i don't really care for BBQ places that are sit down and order from a waitress(excuse me, a server).

Haha yes Bill Miller is the equivalent of fast food BBQ . Anyplace in Lockhart and Elgin Tx , Austin and Houston have some good BBQ but hard to get to not truck friendly.
