This isn't really breaking news but I wasn't aware of this until now. The new mid engine Vette is going to have a flat plane crank in the higher performance versions, like Ford has had in the Voodoo engine in the Mustang GT 350 for a while and the Ferrari's have had for a long time and part of why those are so highly sought after by a certain crowd. Also some McLarens. Expected to see 600 to 1000 horsepower in the upgraded versions. Those flat plane cranks have really high redlines.

 

It’s a shame to buy a Vette for drag racing when it’s one of the few cars that does everything well.
