Those are very sharp trucks. I read up on those once and I think you're right about that. You could get everything but the skid plate without the Z71 package, no problem. Except the plate. The decals came with the package along with the 5.7 , 4wd and other stuff too. IIRC.

 

The z71 package was an awfully expensive skid plate

 

I guessed a Chevelle with SS package a 396 and a 4 speed.....did I win?

I only had one. A 69 4 door 307 tree on the tree. I should have kept it. Not a good looking body style but it was just rebuilt by my friend and those v-8's ran from back then.

Z71 used to net you all the bells and whistles and a v8 along with the skid plates, now it's just an appearance package

 

Depends on the 10 bolt. 7.5 or 8.5 10 bolt. Some of the 8.5 from a GN or Iroc had some decent parts in them.
