Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.
-
There's a driver that posts on here that's been with the company a long time.
@CaptainDaveG I think is the right person.Trucker2376 Thanks this. -
Wow! Now they are shut down leaving tons of drivers stranded. @Trucker2376 How are you doing?
-
Now, I’m just curious if their contract states thirty day notice of contract termination by either party, and they obviously didn’t provide said notice. Wouldn’t this cause 300+ breaches of contract?
-
Just be glad you didn’t go to them. Sorry in advance if you did however ultimately get on with them for maybe three weeks.
-
Doubtful, that would require the drivers to give 30 days notice if they wanted to change jobs. More likely that it could be cancelled at any time by either party. That is pure speculation on my part, but I do stay at Holiday Inn Express every now and then.
-
I don't/didn't work for them. Thankfully. I was looking into possibly driving for them.deathB4decaf Thanks this.

Glad to hear it. There is a video posted somewhere on here of a woman who did sign on and within a week they closed down shop while she was on the road. She got one quick notification, hurried up and filled her tank and then they shut off the fuel card leaving her stranded.

He's talking about the WARN ACT, it requires employers give 30 day notice to employees of pending closure.
-
He brought up contracts, not a federal regulation. And the WARN act doesn’t apply if there are unforeseeable circumstances and that’s an easy argument with the “low freight rates” in this economy.
But maybe he’s right. Maybe in a few years we’ll read about the employees getting a check for $110 while the lawyers pocket the rest.
