I signed a loaded trailer into the emlenton truckstop one time on their clipboard then made a macro on qualcomm a formal trailer drop with crossed I's and ts to the nines. Then sent in a resignation. Bobtailed home.

They raised hell. Then begged and questioned. You wont believe how tiny the problem had become against payroll pending to evoke that little behavior in me that day.

The result of that got into my DAC etc and it was necessary to drive a dump truck and paving work where anything you might have or have not done does not matter as long you are there prior to sunrise filling fuel for work at the store. That turned out in my life time one of the best times ever so come out of the night into the sun.

Good ide to leave trailer. I would have contacted the truckstop or maybe police to have a secure storage.

Hope she(all the drivers) made it home.

Lots of different answers and they're probably all correct in this situation.

I probably would have not taken the load if ever at all possible to understand the company is kaput. I would go bobtail to make the best of the fuel remaining. Many of my former companies have died. That is not a bad thing when one is interested in burying the bad stuff.

Call the shipper who will then call the broker, and have them wire you enough money to get the load delivered and get home. Her bigger mistake was going on the 6 o'clock news and telling the world what she did.

people that own these companies and suddenly shut down, stranding thier employee's ought to be horse whipped. i'd not care one-iota how i got home, and what happens to the equipment or the loads.

i'll bet anyone here dollars to donuts, that owner/CEO is sitting in his la-z-boy recliner watching golf......
or....he left the state or country, with his mistress and all that squandered money

I would give them 24 hours to provide enough money and the rest of my pay.
Then I would park the truck in a safe place, rent a car and head home.

I think I’d just call the shipper and ask where they would like their stuff dropped. It’s not like she’s in a hurry, now.

Shippers are hurt as much as drivers in cases like this.

Using puns, recalling phrases, that's the most important part of the modern "news business." On EVERY topic there is 1 or 2 things everybody not in that business knows. It is the job of those in the "news" business to put those 1 or 2 things into the story so the audience recognizes them and feels informed. Reporters work longer on developing their "head nod" than anything else in their career.
