I'm in the same boat.

For the first time in my entire working career. I get a job with 2 straight days off. And after 2 years. My 2 straight days off are now the weekends.

 

If the pay is even remotely the same, I am not sure why you have not signed up yet. lol

KEEP that mindset, and don't be shy about the ijits at the T/stops that might act judgmental. YOU are the captain of YOUR ship, man. You and just you. Since you are seasoned in winter driving in the extremes, chances are the sleeper (72" assumed?) will actually help YOU overall in the winter months. Did your daycab have single or twin screws? Mine has twins; I've been there long enough to 'qualify' and I got the tenner.

Will shifting (if they give you a manual, though unlikely anymore) come back to you? You don't have a restriction, hopefully.

Sorry the wife is making me watch football (we won) and Nascar... << go figure. Shoes on the wrong feet at my house, haha!

 

Sometimes we ALL miss a gear. Mostly on the downs, LoL. IMHO, I'm cool w/the I'shifts.. Still like manual in winter, especially since I scored my twin screw....and bring 'er home..and plug her in the box (trailer outside my house) when below freezing. I don't mind either way, tbh...Ohio winters can suck, and I'd put in for my twin screw over a year ago...been there 4 years. Makes a TON of difference.

IMHO the sleeper / full size TT DOES ride better in the winter. Think about the weight balances. A benefit in and of itself. Winter will be here too soon...dangit.
