So my Pete is at the dealership. They dropped the tranny and put in a new clutch and new flywheel. (Said couldn’t turn flywheel- has heat cracks) Also new clutch break installed...Seeing as how everybody says 10-30 mins not torn down.....Since everything is torn down I can only assume install on clutch break should be 5/ 10 mins??? The dealership is charging $483 in labor. (Additional $100 in parts.) That would be 3 hours to install the clutch break. It sounds like they’re trying to rip me off majorly????

Clutch brake install with the transmission and clutch out is about 30 seconds. You simply slide it onto the input shaft before you slide the clutch assembly on. Most Eaton clutch kits actually include the brake as well. Something definitely sounds a bit off there for sure.

What I have seen numerous times when a guy pushes the clutch all the way down and engages the clutch brake while the truck is still moving, is it breaks the tit off rendering it useless, even if the friction pads are still new.

    Here is a question.

Do you remember when trucks sometimes kept preferences to top clutch play and bottom clutch play at the pedal in the cab?

Eaton clutch brake p/n 127760 One side is thicker than the other. Does it matter which side goes toward the clutch?
