According to the policy book, drivers with 7 yrs experience get 39 cents a mile of which 10 cents of that is per diem. I do not know if that is 7 yrs with TA or just 7 yrs period. Thats where it tops out at tho. If you come here, be prepared to be pressured into going lease. Also be prepared to be micromanaged ......a lot!!!
As a company driver, I'm doing ok here. As you can see I'm also still a new driver. They do lots of things that drive me up a wall but from talking to drivers of other companies and reading thru some of the other threads, their really not that bad for me at this time. Hope this helps.

Oops, Hometime. You get 4 days a month. They say they guarantee home time, and for the most part, they do. I usually take mine 2 and 2 so that 1 weekend I can be with my brother's family and the other with the G/F. They try to get you home by 2000 the night before your days start and go back out at 0759 the day after your hometime is finished. Hometime can be taken anywhere with a few exceptions which I don't remember at the moment.

They will only hire experienced drivers right now if you go lease from what I have heard.

I know of a lady who worked a few years for them as a company driver she left and come back a few months later and was told if she worked for them she will have to become a L/O driver period. Yes, some newbies think they will be company drivers and those newbies WILL be company drivers all the way back home while they wait for a truck that will never come correction it will come but by the time it does you will need a refresher course in driving.
Now with that being said Trans Am is a good company to work for my old man gets his home time when he ask for it sometimes he get home a full day early which I hate, LOL they are good about that like when I was sick in the hospital they gave him the time off to be with me and they even asked me if I needed more time with him (After 7 days Hell to the No get him a load quick)and he always has a load sometimes dispatch po him but nothing major. The problems he have are pretty much the same as all companies Crappy dispatch mainly weekends and nights, The L/O program and trying to figure out where is the .30 cpm when his stub says .20cpm, and me not being there because our child is only 7 and all riders must be over 12 it maybe different for L/O but he better not do L/O we can't afford the income loss right now.

10 cents of that 30 is actually perdiem pay. Another way for the company to shaft the driver since they get all the tax beneifits of the per diem instead of us. Also lowers their unemployment bennies etc
