Ty I already have a standing account with them by right of extended marriage and divorce to a military spouse who also holds one.

We keep a eye on them, they have been nothing but good to her. I make sure to know to leave them alone for the time being just need to clean up the medical messes cold cash.

Jesus, Chinatown comes out of left field with the French Foreign Legion option to the one guy that already tried that and didnt make the cut.

You screwed yourself, hired onto a #### company and are now on the hook for it. Suck it up, and run as hard as you can and ask for more every chance you get. Tell them every day if you have to, that you're not afraid to run some longer miles and stay out as long as needed.

Being you're only a few months in, they're not going to trust you on the higher paying better freight yet. Or maybe they dont even have any of that, I don't know.

But running off to another company with only 3 or 4 mo's of driving isnt gonna get you in with any better of a company.

Im sure you are correct, I got an offer from western express to take me now at 50 cents a mile but it feels like another bad idea. I’m only getting 37 c/m now. Whatever I know I’m not gonna get rich doing this but I was however hoping to be happy at the least. What I gathered from all you good dudes is that it’s probably best to be patient and get thru this BS. I’m sure when it’s over I’ll have plenty of opportunities with 18 month experience and so forth. Thanks bro bro

I was 2 yrs. over the age cutoff when I had that wild idea. Could get a waiver for a little underage, but not over age. Good memories from my frigate days though.

PM @otterinthewater he works for WE and can answer your questions.

At the end of the day, it was a business deal. They made some promises to you that they havent stood behind it seems and they arent paying you well because they think they have you trapped with that contract. Maybe walking away and settling the debt is a better option. Without knowing or reading the contract no one but you and them knows what kind of leverage they have.

    Horus and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

    Look up the zipcode first.

You don't want to ignore the IRS.

I know Western Express reputation, but I'd probably gamble and give it a try.
That doesn't mean I'm right, it just means, personally, I'd try it.

60 posts and I think the focus is not on the issue.

I asked a legit question, how much does the op expect to make?

I asked this because it goes to the ability to pay off the "debt" or get out of the contract.

You guys are looking at this as if the contract has to be bought out but not one of you have the contract in hand as I don't, we are assuming too much.

Sure he can get a lawyer, a lawyer (best is an ambulance chaser) will see where I'm going with this - that is if there isn't a sufficient amount of revenue produced from his work, then the contract can't be fulfilled and the driver may have an out by claiming that the carrier is not giving him the work to pay it off. But then I aphave to go back to we don't have a copy of the contract to see what it actually says.

Good point - I will read the contract again when I get home thoroughly and try to get a free consultation with someone as well. Thanks

I didn't read through this whole thing but, If the company is getting any government money (which most likely they are along with salary subsides) a decent lawyer should be able to nix the whole thing.
