Done reefer work for a few years a lot and don't mind staying in it.
Kinda prefer it over dry van actually.

    What's it like?
What kinds of loads do you mostly haul (meat, produce, medicine, chocolate, etc)?
What are the operating regions? I read in a topic about the National Dryvan mostly staying east of i35, is reefer the same? I'd prefer to stay being able to drive all 48.

What are the trips like? Longer the drive, the better to me.
What's hometime like? I tend to stay out 3-6 months at a time, but when I do go home (usually just for a week) I *need* to be home for DR appts to get diabetes meds refilled. But having to put in to be home earlier then needed is acceptable to account for getting there a few days late.
How much do they run your hours? I like to maximize my time and run off recaps.

Any people who own their own truck (not leasers) enjoying it there?
Whats that smartphone app like when it comes to picking your own load?
What do they cover in terms of tags, taxes, etc?

Sadly I live in PA and they don't do East Coast.
Would love to move to the midwest eventually, hate living in the north east..

MC VanKampen does run PA, but not the rest of Northeast or Atlantic coast states.
With your driving experience there's lots of good choices in other states.
Some midwestern states are ok, but further west or a little further southwest has some good opportunities also.

There is a conflicted driver if I ever heard one...

I hate the NE and I live in PA (Implying you want out.) Then say such a company does not run east...

    Am I right?

Well it's not like I can just immediately rent an apartment near a truckstop in the midwest.
While I do pretty much live in my truck, 'hometime' for me is just visiting my mothers (which is also used as my physical address) for a few days and to get my prescription renewed. As such, a company needs to be able to get me to PA or close enough to deadhead. A bonus is a privately owned bar just a few min walk away where I can park the truck for hometime.

But yea, I do hate it up here and would love to get out. Born and raised in south east PA, I was in awe the first time I went through the midwest, just so much wide open space. I even hate having to come home due to being forced to drive through PA and sometimes surrounding states.

I appreciate you taking time to write. Any news from Lancaster maybe?

Wait until you get far out west. You might love it very much.

Been to all 48 except North/South Dakota, Montana, Vermont, and Rhode Island.
Utah is an amazing state. Possibly my favorite in terms of scenery.

    News from Lancaster? What happened?
(I'm near Allentown and don't watch TV very often)

Ha.. nothing much if it is a regular day. I associate PA with that area. If you waited long enough word gets around, no need for that TV which really does not talk much sense anyhow these days.

Be well. Good luck to you.
