You're going to have to be flexable as far as sleep goes. You do need sleep. Remember this; you may have to attempt to go to sleep at 4 pm to get up and roll at midnight, but may only lay there wide awake for 3 hours and then just kinda doze on and off till midnight. And that would be next to some fool that is idling at 2000 rpm with an air dryer spitting at 80 decibels every 10 seconds. But, you gotta love it, Son. It's called trucking.........

so if im running bobtail, not running somewhere for the company, its like being in a personal vehicle?
-
If you are on your personal time and not under dispatch then yes.
-
if you r going out with a trainer and you have to sleep on the top bunk you want get much sleep. when i was out i dont think i ever slept less we was stop i could not go asleep on the top bunk y moving. but if your by urself then most of the time its up to you how much you sleep
-
Your not talking about sleeping in the top bunk with the truck rolling are you? I think there is a sticker that says "top bunk not to be occupied with vehicle moving."
-
The Top Bunk is NOT to be occupied while the truck is moving and if your trainer made you sleep in the top bunk while the truck was moving he or she needs reporting!
-
If you sleep in the top bunk while the truck is moving and the driver stops quick, you go ka-boom to the floor from 5' up. Do you feel adventuresome? You could rig up a harness that is tethered to the roof area so as to prevent this from happening.

Melatonin is actually produced by the body. That is what makes you yawn. Its the body's way of saying HEY YOU>
>> time for a recharge!!!!

Or you toughen up, and get Alzheimer's later in life. Lack of sleep is the number one contributor to Alzheimer's and dementia.

Since this thread is thirteen years old, is there any possibility you were the original poster, never got enough sleep, got Alzheimer's, forgot about this thread, and then here you are posting in a thread you actually created?
Threadception.Geekonthestreet, gentleroger, Mototom and 5 others Thank this.
