I want to know where this government money is ... because I have access to a lot of people and never ever heard of one program that would give my company money to increase the driver pool.

    Horus and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

There has been some over the years, JB hunt at one time had a 5 year gov deal where they partially paid wages for any new driver they hired. Iirc, when it ran out for them, swift got the deal.Later on swift had some kind of government deal to hire ex cons too.

Start at your state unemployment office, or state representative

No one YOU know at Hunt has that answer.

Talk to a shareholder who owns a significant chunk.. they'll tell you for the right price.

You really want the answer, look at their financials. Do some cross reference analysis of hiring numbers, wages, contracts, etc... You'll quickly see some connections. Look at Swift too... contract types can be figured out fairly easy.

I'm sure it isn't that much of a deal to you, but if it is, the info is there.

Sometimes it's how I buy stock. The Market/Company shows its hand in many ways. Its that kind of analysis that helps you follow the breadcrumbs to a deal or merger or product unveil or recall, and that in turn is the key to a buy or sell.

Probably not, the deal I am talking about was late 80's or early 90's, and probably does not exist anymore.

That early in the ball game you're probably right... you'd need microfiche for that IF it was recorded.

Man I am feeling your pain. What I'm hearing is that you tend to be impatient. You got a crummy deal because you didn't do your research. Now you want to hurry up and get married. How about one enormous commitment at a time?
Surely the school debt is repaid on a per diem basis. That is you eliminate a certain amount of debt every month you work.
$700 is crappy wages but as a newb you won't make a whole lot more for awhile. At a minimum get 6 months experience (that is only 3 more months) so you will have more companies from which to choose if you do leave before the 18 months is up.

I hope it gets better and more fun for you but whatever happens I wish you the best.

That 700 may seem crappy, but if you go somewhere else you will still be an inexperienced driver and draw low wages, but with a big bill to pay. It might just make that 700 bucks look good.
That said I am willing to bet that that 700 bucks gets better with time, if you are not getting more miles than that the company isn't either, and they would be wanting to make money too.
