    How bad will things get?

    Companies closing down daily....
    Drivers quitting...

Looks like a long cold winter coming for everyone.

This is what happens when you have an endless supply of suckers who will try owning their own trucks.
    Tough business.

It will be tough times ahead for those that aren’t prepared for it.

Cass says truck orders off 84% this year against last years excesses that require 9 months production to fill. Now they rot.

345 companies out this year with more coming. Mostly lease and O/O's hunting spot freight they will go poof roughly 9 months into next year.

    Poof.

    It's dead Jim.

    WTF?

I know! I'll rush off and sign a lease for ElDoradoReal Express and run it as Poof Inc.

If you really want to see a big old fashioned corporation go down... try a film called

    "Hudsucker Proxy"

Finally I leave you with this thought.

Black and Decker ruthlessly fired 900 souls one summer. Then hired me as a mail clerk.

You would think one of those 900s would retrain to be a clerk to support about 35 left.

That thinking is true in a market that has a 25/1 load to truck ratio. Then there would be less capacity. Pretty sure those loads are being done

That's why everyone needs to lay aside money for the tough times.

Haul freight at 40 cents a mile or simply stop working. And it looks like this one won't be a short blip but a drawn out problem- 2 to 5 years.

I talk to people in the trucking industry everyday here in Chicago and to tell you the truth I'm a little concerned myself.

    bzinger Thanks this.
