So two busted pallets and a flat make you wanna quit? You do realize that happens otr too right? Except then what do you do when they refuse the pallet or the load 2000 miles from where it came from? Bad days are gonna happen no matter where you are at bud, just keep your chin up and take your time.
Bad day so far

i have had even worse days (or nights)..like the time i was eating my sammich while i was driving and talking on the phone and drinking my coffee, and part of the sammich fell to the floor....that sucked, i wanted to quit right then and there.
or the other time when i reached into my shirt pocket for my Milky Way bar, and it was all melted and gooey and all that got onto my fingers, and when i licked it off, a cow ran across the road, and i ran over a chicken.....
i hate those times.....makes me wanna quit.
but...i is retired now......the worst thing that happens to me now is i miss the dinner bell cuz i'm napping....
i hate those days........makes me wanna go back to work..... -
Well Ive sat in line for 2hr and 15 min waiting for the reciever to unload this sheetrock off my trailer!
Think I might have a good cry and then quit.autopaint, D.Tibbitt, thelushlarry and 3 others Thank this. -
The Swamp Rat is right. Happens everywhere… any job. Fly in the ointment is a part of the everyday. You could be a Doctor and its going to happen.
What's promising is you thought about quitting but you also talked about options. Take a breath a explore those options. You might find another alternative and turn this bad into a good.
Either way.... you don't want to give up. Keep at it!D.Tibbitt, thelushlarry, 70’Nova and 3 others Thank this. -
If I had to just sit there for two hours doing nothing I would definitely cry and quit. #### that lol, I'll take knocking my route out and going home.D.Tibbitt, thelushlarry, Coffey and 1 other person Thank this.

sorry i disagree. i will gross $1475 this week. im enjoying my time right now with my wife and kids. i enjoy driving a commercial vehicle but also need to have a life. i will drive local or throw in the towel, of course im also not doing general freight but more specialized hauling milk.
i think being home only 34 hours per week is a horrible idea. so far this year i've made 48K and still 4 months left. i think im doing a-ok.D.Tibbitt, thelushlarry, Coffey and 3 others Thank this. -
I agree. I like taking my daughter to school every morning for the most part. I enjoy talking the race car down to Sebring every few weeks, seeing my wife (I know right? Lol) daily. I also like the paycheck which is much more than I could make over the road (because I have no otr experience but still probably wouldn't be able to match it) I also enjoy going to the BMX track 3x a week and not being a creepy truck hermit lol @Fold_MoilerLast edited: Sep 3, 2019

I don't believe sleeping in a day cab is "legal" time off. I know you can't log sleeper since there isnt one. Stick it out, rewrap the pallets. If they are a good company, they will remember this. If they are a bad company, they will remember this..
D.Tibbitt, thelushlarry, 70’Nova and 2 others Thank this. -
you like seeing your wife.......... daily..??
dear god, "Maude, we got another one here":.....
you certainly ARE NOT as old as me, or have been MARRIED as long as me.....
but there will come a day, when you are passing by the oven, and your wife is baking something, and opens up the door to check it, and your wet dreams of pushing her in are all too real....
nah...you ain't as old as me..........YET.....!!!D.Tibbitt, xsetra, FlaSwampRat and 2 others Thank this.
