I would buy straight from Cummins or a dealer(which ever is better priced)and go recon or brand new. @SmokinCAT knows a reputable shop that does good work. Hopefully he chimes in.

Thanks guys, Im going to buy a set from the dealer and send this set out for reman, keep a good set in stock for when the other trucks are due for injectors.
jamespmack and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
PX , not RX though. Both are reman but PX is the better way from what I know. At least as far as Cummins genuine is concerned
Dave_in_AZ and BoxCarKidd Thank this. -
Is there a large risk of him continuing to drive for the next two days until he makes it to the shop? Last thing I need is a broken crank because of uneven combustion or that sort of thing lol.
Also, how do you identify the type, as is PX and RX? -
Dave_in_AZ and SpeedyGonzalez Thank this.

Thanks for all the help. Driver is about 100 miles out and I've got some shiny new PX remans in hand. I've got a couple of question about install, I was reading a thread here and it was recommended to clean the injector cups, how exactly do you do that, I'd assume that steel wool would damage it so would a nylon bottle brush work?
Second question is how do you evacuate the fuel in the cylinder to keep it from hydrolocking?
When I swapped 1 and 2 no fuel came out or very little due to the whole algea clogged system, but that issue is fixed now and I'm assuming that when I pull the first injector the cylinder is going to flood with fuel. I've been thinking of using a shopvac but I don't have a nozzle that small so id have to rig something up, what's the usual procedure for getting the diesel out of the cylinders?
Lastly , do you grease the orings or just wet them with diesel on install?Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Here’s a video I did one setting the valves, injectors. Can’t help you much with the install as I have not done it before personally. This video is okay, I say the right stuff but it’s painfull to watch because I didn’t know what I was really doing.
