KKW is regional. With the way they want to work you, it’s hard to get more than 350 miles per day.

I just read an article from an attorney, and under California's labor law if you drive a big truck across state lines, or the cargo is defined as interstate commerce you are only required to be paid straight time.

Yea from what I'm reading if the cargo is interstate commerce, and the company isn't based in California you're good.

Soon there will be no California trucking companies lol.

this company has to live by California law and that law is to pay for overtime after 40 hrs which they are not doing.... they want to pay straight pay no matter how many hours put. You can put up to 70 hrs a week and still get no overtime pay
They don't have to pay OT because they have a federal exemption under the FLSA

I don’t think it’s fair for OTR drivers who have to spend time away from family and live in their trucks every week to be paid the same as local drivers! If it was a problem for local drivers not making money then they should have bumped up the hourly wage! Not take away from the regional OTR drivers! Bottom line.... they basically screwing the OTR drivers!!
You don't have to spend 1 minute more then you choose to spend away from home or family. You also get to deduct per diem from your taxes if you know how for living on the road . So in fact, if your paid the same as local you still in most case will have more net income.

If you get behind the wheel for $14 you are screwing yourself. They pay $14 because donuts are willing to accept it. Don't & they will pay more or fold.

Well Sadly your mistaken about the overtime laws, If (and they are) they are a interstate carrier they are exempt from paying overtime to drivers and anyone who is considered driver support, such as drivers local or regional does not matter, mechanics, dispatchers all of these qualify as driver or driver support and there for under current law are exempt from OT.

You want OT as a driver go to work for a local only company. There are plenty of them here in Ca.
