If it comes through anyway. Albuquerque's about as a big of a city I'm willing to deal with anymore as far as living goes. Having had lived in SoCal from the ages of 3-29, I'm not willing to deal with that sort of hustle and bustle. When I talked to them originally, there seemed to be, and still is, a great chunk of openings up in the Denver metro for line-haul and P/D.
Had this been 2011 and I had the experience then, I would've jumped onto it while the rental markets were still reasonable. Now it's just bologna.stwik, Sirscrapntruckalot and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
I bet the rent skyrocketed in colorado since alot folks move up there due to marijuana is legal right.
Theres was a post not too long ago that even UPS freight was hiring, who knows why they would be having a hard time to keep drivers.bentstrider83 Thanks this. -
A little bit of the green stuff I suppose. But then there were alot of tech companies that put offices there as well. So the "richer Californians" in the tech sector decided to roll on in too. Boulder's a nice town, but at the same time, feels alot like a displaced, NoCal community. Us pooer, ex-Californian's seem to always be on the run from them.
As far as the UPS hiring goes, I know of another guy at IRT who had been there for five or so years. He quit back in August out of the blue to go back to Kentucky for a feeder position with them over there. The way I see it, if one stayed at least a year or more at some place and decides to drop the sails, they should be free to take off. Not like any of us signed a contract for a bonus or something.

Check out fountain or Pueblo colorado, houses are some what affordable. Also the view of the mountains and the garden of the gods view is awesome. OD and Estes if im not mistaken also has a terminal there.

Nah. Probably going to stick to NM or some other state that isn't getting hit as hard by others from my former state. At least around here, I usually run into mostly natives and maybe people from TX or OK. Whenever I'm up in CO, it's hard not to be having a conversation up there and having to duck out on the date when they're all like: "So I moved here from Santa Moni--" Me-"Time out, I got to hit the head" ** sneaks out back door, hops on Shadow and disappears**
That and the snow isn't as bad down here in eastern NM as it is up there. Slip n Slide Record's y'all!!!
But once I finish paying off my pickup truck note, I'm sure I'll be more open to a move.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
Well once your done move to Texas, texas is trucking friendly, we dont pay state taxes and have plenty of opportunities as far as jobs. Ive also noticed folks moving from California to Houston but not as often as Austin, since Austin is a major tech city.

I'll see what happens. Probably just end up staying out here and doing some 40-hour gig while living out in Harding or DeBaca counties. More cattle, prairie dogs, feral hogs, and ghosts of gunfighters/pioneers than there are living people.
Maybe even start up a greater NM/west TX urbex channel. Kind of like the Proper People and RnK doing all their back-east explores!!Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
Well Im very fortunate and blessed to say that Im going to start orientation with Estes this coming up week. After a month of being home its time to go back to the trenches.
