the low voltage alarm I'm talking about is independent of the key being.on, off or in your pocket ANYTIME the battery voltage goes down to 12-12.4 volts (trucks are set at 12, 12.2, 12.4) when it drops to that setting it will beeps for 30 sec to 1 min. then it cut almost all power.(power plugs, interior light ect) This is to save enough power to start the truck...

Some power inverters will also do that.. some of the newer road pro's that have bluetooth with your phone you can set it for low voltage alarm AND at what voltage it will turn itself off. Should be set .1-.3 volts hight than the trucks...

don't use a stock alternator. You will not like the price but next time you have to replace it go with a big one... my volvo had a (I think) 150 amp, when it went bad I had a 240 amp put in.. Freightliner has them also

Tahoe has about a 200 or so, previous owner was a big bass king in that poor thing. The first thing I did was remove a cable two inches thick stranded wrapped in roller skate plastic. (Word escapes me) going to the back compartment of vehicle.

You think with such a Lazarus I can revive a dead battery Frankenstein style. but nope. When dead its dead But it sure likes to feed em when alive. I sometimes wonder... But in a company truck? Bleah... cheap tightfisted shysters not knowing how to properly buy a big truck. Give me a batch of coin and let me do it.

I don't get it why would you want more flow (amps) ?
Your truck has 3 or 4 Semi batteries with plenty of reserved charge..

Because you want to keep the reserve on the batteries as high as possible. The battery life depends on it.

that was in response to the driver who installed a 5000 watt inverter and was having problems with alternator is burning out all the time the larger alternator can handle a higher output with less wear and tear on it

I run 4 batteries with a 2500 watt pure sine wave a 3.1 dorm fridge ,700 watt microwave ,coffee pot ,instapot and my cpap. Not all at once tho. The fridge fan and cpap run over night no problems if I am not running my generator. Micro wave will kick the load shedding relay if I heating something more than 6 minutes, But on the other hand I have a 3000 amp booster pack for the hart start in cold weather and if all else fails a 50 amp charger to charge the batteries from the genset. Hadn't had to use the charger yet. I figure the charger could charge the batteries in the 2 hrs waiting for road service.

Just because you have a 3000 doesn't mean that it is 3000 all the time. It only produces what is needed.
