Pulling truck Black Sheep had a come apart. It blowed the hood off when she come unwound.

 

Cast iron can only stretch so much !!! LOL

 

It was one bad ### 3406B.........in a super dog I'm pretty sure

Looks like somebody ported too much material trying to let it breath huh ?
Normally you can't see the pistons because the heads are in the way. But those heads sure are light, gotta give 'em credit for that.

 

Went up to Bethlehem CT today to a fair. They had a old iron section out back. Apparently a lot of the tractors were pulling yesterday, which I missed unfortunately.

 

The spacer plate and top of the block come off with the head. (Part of block with head bolt holes threads) so ima gonna go with they was building on helluva fire to make it split at the cam journals

B and C are not over head cam

If you look you will see it took the sleeves out with it

 

Heck of a way to check liner protrusion.

 

That is what I would call a cast iron hemorrhage.
