Hows things going since getting into your lease truck?

Im thinking about joining QC in New Johnsonville, TN as the terminal isnt even 15 mins from me. im not crazy about LP but i see the headache being worth it just to have my freedom of choice.

(and no im not new to O/O, i understand what it requires. i run my own 05 Columbia hauling containers out of memphis, but my truck isnt a midroof and im still around 12-18months from being able to upgrade. especially with containers going into the ####ter for the time being)

@Danbo start out with your current truck. There's plenty of work you can do not being a midroof.

Not to burst your bubble but right now rates are low like 1.30 a mile on some dedicated freight and alot of us are just making ends meet and dot are up our rears when it comes to maintenance... tanker is the only sector a major player has not declared bankruptcy this year so alot of people are waiting to see who's going to be my opinion is stay put because the chemical slow season has not started and atleast you guys have the holidays rush coming to put some money on the bank. If I were you I would look into dana since they do isos and tankers out of the same terminal instead of what quality does which is tankers only in a terminal and ISOS out of the boasso terminal (they both fall under quality distribution)

scythe08, Eggroll'n Trucker and Danbo Thank this.

its my understanding through the QC recruiter (lisa) that your truck has to be a mid roof (13'2'' or below) and if you are referring to work other than QC im wanting to get into dry bulk and tanker work as it seem more interesting and slightly more lucrative than van and they are seemingly the best option around my area. There is AR logistics (iffy on their reputation) but my truck is older than they require and honestly, it being an intermodal truck, it shows being a long time intermodal truck and i wouldnt dare insult them by asking for an exception lol.
Bruce oakley seems to have a good operation and they run close to my area often but im waiting till i upgrade before giving them a shout.

well consider my bubble bursted, not that i expected to get rich to begin with but thats a shame the rates are going down. and yeah maybe xmas season will pick up but with the trade war going on, idk if itll look much different tbh. but even so, working 5-6 days intermodal will only net you 1400-1800 around here. being home daily thats fine but you gotta get 5-6 days constantly and thats not happening

You're just going to get out of the pot just to jump into the fire.

that seems to be the case in any direction you go. only thing putting you in the pot is knowing the evil you are with.

Check out Dana or look at Boasso. Dana doesn't have a height requirement and I call b's on what the recruiter said, if they need trucks, they'll take you on. Having a truck over 12'6" will limit you only in Houston area, Citgo Lemont IL and a couple of NJ terminals. At least Dana runs both tanks & ISO's.

Btw, I think the recruiter lied or doesn't know any different. There's a QC next to me who's not a midroof.
